Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs lean sirloin steak
  • 1/4 cup steak sauce
  • 1 small yellow onion, sliced
  • 1 (14 oz) can diced tomatoes, undrained
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Cut steak into 1 inch pieces. Put in the bottom of slow cooker.
  • Add steak sauce and stir around to coat steak. Add diced tomatoes and onions; stir once more.
  • Cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.

  1. Sounds like a good and easy recipe. What would you recommend to go with it? I would probably only be able to eat that but what about the rest of my hungry bunch that would think I was being mean if that was all I offered. Thanks and keep up the good work!

  2. Depends on the bunch! :) You could make some roasted veggies in the oven since they are ready so quick! Or sautéed is quick too. I would be more tempted to do raw veggies and dip or a quick side salad, because the beauty of the recipe is the slow cooker!

  3. Hi Steph! Do you think BBQ sauce would work in place of the steak sauce? If not, what kind of steak sauce did you use?  Thanks

     

  4. I just use the off brand A1 steak sauce! Yes, you could use a BBQ sauce but look for the absolute lowest sugar BBQ sauce you can find available at the store. You might even buy a low-sugar BBQ sauce from Amazon if you do online shopping!

  5. Mashed potatoes are great with this recipe. Also a side of cottage cheese & you have a full plate!
