1lbItalian turkey sausage (casing removed if using links)
1/2onion, chopped
1(14 oz) canfire roasted diced tomatoes
1yellow or red bell pepper, diced
1(6 oz) cantomato paste
1/2tbspdried basil
1/2tbspdried oregano
shredded 2% mozzarella cheese for toppingoptional for topping
Instructions
Heat a skillet to medium high and spray with olive oil. Add turkey sausage and brown; drain if needed. Add onion and cook 2 more minutes.
Add to either slow cooker or large dutch oven. Add diced tomatoes, bell pepper and tomato paste. Mix well. Stir in herbs. If using slow cooker, cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 6-7 hours. If using dutch oven, put burner to low and cook for 20-30 minutes.
