Berry Cream Protein Shake
Berry Cream Protein Shake
Protein shakes are such a funny thing to me. In my truthful opinion…sometimes I think we ELEVATE the power of protein shakes much too high.
As bariatric surgery patients, you’ve been told protein shakes will be a part of your life fooooreeeevvveeerrr. (Yes, that’s a Sandlot reference). But I actually am here to tell you that’s not always the case.
Protein shakes before surgery can be a huge help to keeping carbs down and hunger controlled. For sure.
Protein shakes after surgery are essential while you’re healing and you can’t put too much stress on your healing pouch. For sure.
Protein shakes beyond the healing months of surgery CAN help if it keeps sweet cravings at bay or even curbs a nighttime snacking habit.
But.
Drinking protein shakes beyond the healing phases because you feel like you NEED TO is not helpful. Sure you can email me about that :) Send it to steph@foodcoach.me
Truly. I’ve created a whole video course for you, a member, about the DO’s and the DON’TS of protein. So while is this is an AWESOME recipe for a protein shake that I love (and that I often share with my daughter) I would encourage you to make sure protein shakes still make sense in your post-op plan.
Enjoy!
Steph :)
