It’s no surprise that protein is essential to success after a bariatric surgery. However, common misconceptions about protein, where you should get it from and how much to have can actually slow down weight-loss.

Understanding how to use protein will allow you to leverage it’s power for maximum weight-loss;  misunderstanding how to use it can slow you down.

No, you don’t need to choke down protein shakes for the rest of your life. Yes, protein does help with weight-loss. No, more protein is not always better.

There are some instances when increased protein is necessary. Always listen to your doctors recommendations! The information discussed in these videos are education and not specific to your own nutrition needs.

Many patients are drinking extra protein shakes feeling the more the protein they consume the better their weight loss. It may not be all wrong, but it may not be all right either.
