Grilled Sausage & Pepper Skewers

SausagePepperSkewers

I love the flavors of sausage and peppers. Yes, I do mean turkey sausage and peppers. Or chicken sausage. No need to discriminate!

I shared this super super super easy dinner last year at back to school time. A simple skillet of peppers and chicken sausage is always a great idea! Read that post here.

This time around, I decided to put the ingredients on the grill. I could have marinated the meat and veggies or brushed it with dijon mustard…but instead…I just let them as is. Which means, this meal has exactly two ingredients.

Yep…you read that right! That makes this post very easy to write :)

Here’s the break down:

SweetPeppersTurkeySausage

1. Buy a bag of sweet mini peppers. While you’re at it, buy a package of Sweet Italian Turkey Sausage.

2. Heat your grill (or oven can work too) and place the bell peppers (after you cut the tops/seeds off) on one skewer and the turkey sausage on the other. I have mega grill skewers, but if you didn’t have something this strong, you could cut the sausages in half and put them on several smaller skewers to distribute the weight.

3. Grill for about 6 minutes with the lid shut and flip. Grill another 6 minutes or until sausage is cooked through. You may want the peppers to come off sooner per your preference, so keep an eye on them.

4. Remove the skewers from the grill using an oven or grill mit. Still wearing the mit, remove the peppers and sausages from the skewers and serve. I chopped all my food up before I started to get a good mix of flavors.
