Take the Quiz

Several weeks ago I went to a seminar entitled Food Addiction, Obesity & Diabetes. The seminar is focusing on health care professionals and, quite honestly, some pretty intense stuff.

In fact, it’s taken me these several weeks since attending to digest the information I heard. I’ve been working it in my mind to break it down into helpful and useful information we can apply to our lives. For this reason, I’ve decided to break the information into segments.

  • Part One: The major systems the influence food intake.
  • Part Two: The hormone that can overtake all others.
  • Part Three: Cognition. Re-wiring the brain to have power over emotions.
  • Part Four: Gut Feelings. The Second Brain.
  • Part Five: The Pleasure Reward System.

I will be posting each part once a week for the next 5 weeks. My question to my followers: in what way would you prefer the content to be delivered? I can write out blog postings when you have time to read through the information, or I can create more videos similar to the one below to deliver content. Everyone will have different preferences, but I’d rather get a majority vote rather than make the decision on my own :)

A few weeks ago I attended a seminar for health care professionals entitled Food Addiction, Obesity and Diabetes. This was such a weighty and intense seminar that it has taken me quite a bit of time to digest the information. Then I’ve been focusing on breaking it down to bite size pieces of information we can actually apply to our lives. I’ll be honest, this kind of information can be really dull. It takes about brain chemicals, homeostasis, and lots of biology and psychology that is interesting and small doses. So in order to provide this info in a palatable and somewhat fun approach, I’ve decided it’s best to break this up in to several postings on the website. I’ve broken the information down into 5 different parts. Honestly I could have created way more than 5 parts, but I don’t want to start off too strong. The five parts include the following: number one major systems that influence food intake. number 2, the hormone that can take out all other hormones. number 3, cognition. how to wire our brains to have control over emotions. number 4 gut feelings, the second brain. finally number 5 is in my opinion the most meaty of the sections- the pleasure reward system. it’s really the heart of the matter. my question to you is in what method do you feel this somewhat dry but really interesting material should be delivered to you. I can write blogs in sections where you can read through it at your own pace or I can create more videos such as this one speaking the information rather than writing. I know not everyone will feel the same way, but I’d love to hear from you rather than make that decision on my own. Each segment will be posted once each week, so this is a 5 week series when all is said and done. My goal is to help you know how to take this information and apply it to your life. The first step is knowledge, the next step is application. Thanks for following and excited to hear from you.

  2. As long as the text is included, I’m happy, because I usually have iTunes going on in the background on my laptop. Thanks!

  3. I like the videos but the written is more useful because I cN reference and read again. Thanks for all you do for us.
