12 Heathy & Portable Low Carb Snacks – WLS Tips

I get great suggestions from my followers on things to discuss, feature or create for this blog. I love it! It always excites me when I’m given a new challenge. The most recent? A list of healthy and portable low carb snacks.

Portable is by far the challenging key word. You can’t always be nearby a refrigerator and some snack ideas seem way too complicated. Many snack options out there are loaded with starches..in fact when I search “snack ideas” on some of my favorite websites it usually starts with chex mix or dry cereal. That isn’t going to work if you are working towards keeping starches out of your diet.

So here are twelve of my favorite go to foods when I’m in between meals but I’m starving. I also listed the pros & cons of each snackeroo.…

  1. I love deviled eggs! However, I am supposed to be limiting my cholesterol. There are a lot of mixed messages out there about eggs and cholesterol; what are your thoughts?

  2. I’m okay with the yolks in the eggs! I feel that way because over 80% of the cholesterol in the blood is made in the liver, this means over 80% of cholesterol is related to genetics and less than 20% from food. Foods that are rich in saturated fat (i.e. fried foods) are the ones to avoid for limiting cholesterol.     That being said…always talk to your doctor :)
